Airport Style

It's Wednesday so that means out thoughts are on heading out to some distant location. Heading somewhere for Memorial Day Weekend? Travel style is tricky for everyone. We found some expert celeb looks to get you from point a to point b while staying stylish...
1. denim
2. thin tee or tank
3. cardigan or light jacket
4. huge scarf (to be worn as blanket on the plane)
5. comfortable and easy to remove shoes
6. oversized handbag
7. one easy statement piece of jewelry or sunglasses (if you so happen to be a celeb) add a touch of personal of style(we like to wear a sentimental piece if traveling alone)
Jeans are a must - skinny jeans are best because they help balance out a look that ends up being larger on top (due to scarf, sweater, jacket, etc for the always freezing airplane). Whether you go for dark, black, green, skinny or jegging is up to you!

A blazer is just as chic as a cardigan for coverage. Just be sure to go with something that won't wrinkly too much on the plane.

Neutral palletes are easiest to work with - black is an easy go to, as is grey. What makes Sienna's look pulled togther is the additional of her nautical striped shirt. It's basic and classic but also breaks up an otherwise monochromatic look.

Classic jeans and a sweatshirt but the proportions are just right. Anja really nails the casual silhouette... after all, she IS a super model.

How to cover up at the beach?

We're headed to Mexico for Memorial Day for a friend's wedding. As we dig through our closets finding the perfect bathing suits, hats, sunglasses, bags and grab that last minute spray tan, pedicure, wax, etc we thought we'd take a moment to pass on what we've learned for covering up for the beach. Hopefully these will help give you a few hot weather style tips even if you're not as lucky as we are and get to fly off to a fancy Mexican paradise...

Your classic white work shirt re-invented. Wear alone or over a sarong. Style tip: roll the sleeve to 3/4 and this is the only time we condone "popping your collar")

Both Marisa's bright mini and Blake's jeweled tunic are great styles to take you from day to night. Style Tip: during the day keep is sinple with metalic slip ons over you're bikini. For night add a little bit of jewelry and just a hint of lipgloss. If it's not too short feel free to add some heels.

Classic staples in the beach cover up world... sarongs and little white dresses.
Style Tip: try and go for elevated fabrics and beautiful, fun prints and colors (or classic black and white). Cheap material won't help you out here.

Always pack a great straw hat and sunglasses.

Style Tip: think about your destination when planning your accessories... headed to the Riviera? You may want to go for a huge floppy hat and big, oversized, retro shades. Headed to Cabo? We love a fedora and those old school ray bans you've had since the 80s.

Happy Outfitting...

In the Clear....

Lucite accessories have been seen on the runway and on celebrities alike.
Jewelry is the best way to try out this trend and you can find if inexpensively.
Runway inspiration....
The best way to try this trend is with BIG, BOLD statements... like Drew's giant cuffs or the models oversized necklace. Remember, this is fun!Feel free to pile it on, afterall, it's CLEAR... just be sure to stick to one part of the body like 2 - 3 big, chunky lucite bangles.
Lucite... it's not just for stripper shoes anymore ;)

Stylists in the City help you get ready for bathing suit season!

With Memorial Day just around the corner
we thought we'd battle the toughest fashion question of all... BATHING SUITS.
Model Crystal was ALL over the runways this season. What we love about her are her other wordly curves. Do you have them too? Don't be afraid to show them off and go for the bikini.

Although by now the whole world has seen (and envied) this photo, we love that Jessica is so athletic and her teeny, white bikini is the perfect way to show off that "New Years Resolution Body" you've been working so hard for these past 5 months!

Selma Hayak also embraces her sexy curves in this fuller coverage bikini. Heavier on top? Don't try and squeeze into a tiny, string bikini... show what your mama gave ya AND be able to run and have fun in the sun in a beautiful and supportive style like above.

It's hard to go wrong with a nautical stripe on a classic bikini silhouette.

Gorgeous Zoe shows off just enough skin in the above shot. Use a style like this, a side cut out or a tankini to cover that little "pesky little pooch" at the bottom of your belly (that never goes away no matter HOW many sit ups you do!) while showing off everything else.

The one piece is BACK this season. Feel free to wear this style if you're thin, curvy, athletic, etc. It's a classic, elegant look and looks especially sexy in white... although traditional black, with great hardware details will always be a classic.

TIPS TO REMEMBER...
1. Embrace your body (confidence is sexy)
2. Always err on the side of classic - cuts, silhouettes, colors, etc.
3. Smaller is not necessarily better... leave that to the teenagers in your life
